Situated on the corner of London St. in Norwich, The Book Hive serves as the city's only truly independent book shop. This beautiful three storey building houses a unique collection of hand curated books unlikely to be found elsewhere. Both Eimear McBride’s 'A Girl Is a Half-formed Thing' and Jonathan Gibbs' 'Randall' were discovered by the owner of the book shop when it was home to Galley Beggar Press.
Opened in 2009 by Henry Layte, The Book Hive was named The Daily Telegraph’s Best Small Bookshop in Britain, one of The Independent’s Top 50 Bookshops in the UK, one of Harvil Secker’s Twelve Bookshops for Christmas and regional finalist in The Bookseller Best Independent Bookshop Award. Its staff include published author S.E. Craythorne & Nominee for The Bookseller Young Retailer of The Year Rory Hill.
